Visit 1 (Day -7): Potential subjects will report to the Testing Facility at their scheduled appointment time and complete an ICF to become subjects. For the next 7 days, subjects will discontinue use of any type of skincare product on their face. Subjects will wash their face two times each day with a non-moisturizing cleanser, provided by the Testing Facility. Subjects will be required to use the provided cleanser for the duration of the trial.
Subjects will be refrain from washing their face at home with the provided cleanser at least 8 hours prior to the Day 0 Testing Facility visit, with the last washing the day prior. A Conditioning Phase daily diary will be provided to each subject to document each washing of their face.
Visit 2 (Day 0): Subjects will report to the Testing Facility at their scheduled appointment time with their Conditioning Phase daily diaries, without moisturizer or makeup, having washed their face at home at least 8 hours before their visit. Male subjects must arrive clean shaven, having shaved the day prior. Subjects’ Conditioning Phase daily diaries will be collected and reviewed for compliance. An Expert Grader will evaluate each subject’s face area for redness, swelling, and dryness. Subjects with a score of 2 or greater for any parameter will be disqualified.
Subjects will equilibrate in the temperature-controlled room for at least 30 minutes. Following equilibration, a Bioinstrumentation technician with take baseline sebum measurements and images of the face. The Bioinstrumentation technician will evaluate the images for a sufficient amount of visual UV fluorescence on the face to qualify for the trial. Under clinical supervision, qualified subjects will apply the test material to the right or left side of the face according to Sponsor-supplied use instructions. Conversation between subjects and clinical technicians will be kept to a minimum. Subjects will be instructed not to touch their face until after trial completion. Approximately 30 minutes after test material application, a Bioinstrumentation technician will capture sebum measurements and images of the face, as previously described. Subjects will then be dismissed from the trial.
