What to Expect

If you are eligible for the study and you choose to participate, you will:

  • Attend study visits throughout your time in the study.
  • Week 1:
    Mon. Mar 10, 2025  —  Fri. Mar 14, 2025
  • Week 2:
    Mon. Mar 17, 2025  —  Fri. Mar 21, 2025
  • Week 3:
    Mon. Mar 24, 2025  —  Fri. Mar 28, 2025
  • Week 4-Rest-no visits:
    Mon. Mar 31, 2025  —  Fri. Apr 4, 2025
  • Week 5:
    Mon. Apr 7, 2025  —  Fri. Apr 11, 2025

Testing Procedure:

Subjects will be required to report to the photobiology lab for five (5) days per week for a total of twenty (20)

visits in a five-week period.

Weeks 1 – 3

Day 1: 2 Semi-Occluded Patches applied to left side of back 5-10 minutes

(Week 1, Day 1: Consenting, Exposure to UV light for MED determination) – 20 - 25 minutes

Day 2: Patches removed and 1 patch area (1 of 2 patches for the test material) exposed to UV light – 5-10

minutes

Day 3: 4 Patches applied – 5 minutes

Day 4: Patches removed and 1 patch area exposed to UV light – 5-10 minutes

Day 5: Evaluation of the test sites – 5 minutes

Week 4

Rest period

Week 5

Day 1: Challenge Phase – 4 semi-occluded patches applied to right side of back– 5-10 minutes

Day 2: Patches removed and 2 patched areas will be exposed to UV light – 15-30 minutes

Days 3 – 5: All sites will be evaluated – 5 minutes
