What to Expect

If you are eligible for the study and you choose to participate, you will:

  • Attend study visits throughout your time in the study.
  • Visits 1-9:
    Mon. Sep 14, 2026  —  Fri. Sep 18, 2026
    2 Visits each day Mon.-Thur. and 1 visit on Fri.

Testing Procedure: Subjects will be required to report to the Photobiology lab 9 times over 5 days. Generally, the morning visit will last approximately 45 minutes and the afternoon visit will last approximately 20 minutes. The morning visit will include consenting, color readings, simulated sunlight exposure and/or test material application. The afternoon visit will involve test material application. There are no make up days for this trial. The Sponsor will be present for a majority of the trial and Subjects will sign a photographic release form. Day 1 (Monday) Morning: Consent; ITA (skin color determination); exposure to simulated sunlight for MED determination (smallest amount of sunlight required to produce redness); outline 5 test sites on the left side of the back with a surgical marker; color readings on each test site; test material application and 5 minutes dry time - 45 mins Day 1 (Monday) Afternoon: Test material application on the left side of the back and 5 minutes dry time – 20 mins Day 2 (Tuesday) Morning: Outline 5 test sites on the right side of the back with a surgical marker; color readings on each right side test sites; simulated sunlight exposure to each right side test site; simulated sunlight exposure to test sites on the right side of the back; test material application and 5 minutes dry time for each test site on the right and left side of the back- 45 mins Day 2 (Tuesday) Afternoon: Test material application and 5 minutes dry time for each test site on the right and left side of the back - 20 mins Day 3 (Wednesday) Morning: Simulated sunlight exposure to test sites on the left side of the back; color readings on each right side test site; test material application and 5 minutes dry time for right side of the back – 45 mins Day 3 (Wednesday) Afternoon: Test material application and 5 minutes dry time for test sites on the right side of the back- 20 mins Day 4 (Thursday) Morning: Color readings on each test site on the right and left side of the back; test material application and 5 minutes dry time for test sites on the right side of the back – 45 mins Day 4 (Thursday) Afternoon: Test material application and 5 minutes dry time for test sites on the right side of the back- 20 mins Day 5 (Friday) Morning: Color readings on each test site on the right and left side of the back – 45 mins
